Looking for a creative and homemade gift to give the dads in your life this Fathers' Day? A homemade grill seasoning or BBQ spice mix may just be the perfect thing for you. Below are some of our favorite combinations, but you can always make your own with a little bit of creativity and some high quality spices.


The All Canadian – Flavours from the Great White North

3 tbsp maple flakes or maple sugar

1 tbsp sea-salt

2 tbsp garlic powder

2 tbsp onion powder

2 tbsp apple powder, or dehydrated and ground apple

1 tbsp dried thyme

1 tbsp dried sage

2 tbsp mustard powder

 

The Classic – BBQ Flavour at Its Finest

2 tbsp cup brown sugar

2 tbsp sea salt

4 tbsp mustard powder

2 tbsp garlic powder

2 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp dried thyme

1 tbsp dried oregano

1 tbsp spanish paprika (mild or hot)

1 tbsp celery salt

1 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp cayenne pepper (omit or reduce to control the heat)

2 tbsp salt

2 tsp agave powder

2 tbsp dried mint

2 tbsp dried lime zest, finely minced

1 tbsp dehydrated garlic, lightly crushed

1 tbsp dehydrated onion
